How to Order Custom Yoga Mats: A Step-by-Step Checklist

A custom mat order goes smoothly when the decisions happen in the right order. Skip ahead to artwork before you have settled the material, and you can end up redoing the layout. Work the list top to bottom and each step sets up the next.

Here is the sequence we use with every client, from raw material to a signed-off mockup.

The checklist, in order

  1. Material. Choose natural rubber, cork, suede microfiber, or TPE/PVC based on grip, weight, eco, and budget.
  2. Size and thickness. Standard is about 68×24 in; long, extra-wide, travel, and extra-thick options are available.
  3. Decoration method. Full-color sublimation print, debossing, or laser-etching — driven by your material and your design.
  4. Artwork and colors. Supply your logo or key art and confirm brand colors for the layout.
  5. Quantity. Set your count; our minimum is 25 mats, and per-mat economics improve as the run grows.
  6. Timing and deadline. Tell us your in-hand date so we can confirm standard or rush production.
  7. Mockup approval. Review the free mockup, request revisions, and approve before anything is produced.

Step 1–3: lock the physical mat

Material comes first because it gates everything else — grip, weight, eco story, and which decoration methods are possible. Our material comparison walks through the trade-offs. With the material set, choose size and thickness for how the mats will be used, then pick the decoration method; our printed vs. debossed guide covers which finish suits each build.

Step 4–5: artwork and quantity

Send vector artwork where possible and confirm your exact brand colors. For quantity, order what you need plus a sensible buffer for spares or growth. Studios sizing a floor can use the formula in our studio quantity guide.

Step 6–7: timing and approval

Standard production runs about three weeks from approved mockup, with rush available for fixed dates. You will get a free mockup within 24–48 hours and unlimited revisions, and you only pay once you approve — so nothing is produced until the design is exactly right.
